Now predicted to intensify into a major hurricane that is "dangerous" as it passes over the Windward Islands is Beryl

The National Hurricane Center (NHC) warns that Tropical Storm Beryl is now expected to strengthen into a strong Category 3 hurricane that is “dangerous” as it passes across the Windward Islands early on Monday morning.

The cyclone was rapidly strengthening, with maximum sustained winds of at least 65 mph recorded in the NHC’s most recent report. By Saturday night or Sunday, the cyclone is predicted to have sustained winds of at least 74 mph, at which point it will be declared a hurricane. At 74 mph, though, the storm isn’t predicted to stop.

The NHC stated in its 11 a.m. ET advisory that “rapid strengthening is now forecast, and Beryl is expected to become a major hurricane before it reaches the Windward Islands.”

Tropical Storm Beryl is where?

Situated in the tropical Atlantic, Tropical Storm Beryl is situated somewhat more than 800 miles to the east-southeast of the Windward Islands.
The cyclone is predicted to affect the southern Windward Islands starting later on Sunday and continuing into Monday based on its present trajectory.
