Even though Lainey Wilson is a country music superstar and is always on the road, she is prepared to take a break and embark on a new musical endeavor.
Wilson posted the “Whirlwind” album track list to social media on Tuesday.
The 14 new song titles were revealed in a video that the Grammy-winning artist used to make the announcement. Also included in the trailer was a brief excerpt from the unreleased song “4x4xU.”
“Writing (and) recording these 14 songs over the past couple of years has helped me stay grounded in ways you’d never believe,” Wilson stated. “This album brought me back to my roots and made me feel at home during times when I couldn’t have been further away, and my biggest hope is that it gives you that same sense of comfort that it has for me.”
Wilson used a picture of the album cover to promote the impending release of “Whirlwind” on social media in May. The singer of “Watermelon Moonshine” also discussed the meaning behind the album’s title.
“Turbulence. For the past few years, that has been my life,” Wilson wrote. “I hope this record brings peace to your ‘whirlwind’ and wraps its arms around you like it did me when I was writing and recording it.”
