Her real name is Anna Mae Bullock.

She was born on November 26, 1939 in Brownsville, Tennessee.

She started her career as a backup singer for Ike Turner.

 She and Ike Turner formed the Ike & Tina Turner Revue in 1960.

The duo released their first album, "Ain't No Good Without You", in 1961.

Tina Turner left Ike Turner in 1976 after years of abuse.

She has won numerous awards, including eight Grammy Awards.

She was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1991.

She released her autobiography, "I, Tina", in 1986.

She retired from touring in 2008.
