Eligibility Criteria for CSIR NET
Before appearing for the CSIR NET exam, Candidates must be sure for the eligibility requirements. These criteria include educational qualification, age limit and other conditions.
Educational Qualification
- For JRF (Junior Research Fellowship):
– Candidates must have a Master’s degree or equivalent in the field of Science, such as an M.Sc., Integrated BS-MS, BS-4 years, BE/B.Tech, B.Pharma, or MBBS, from a recognized university.
– General and OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) candidates must have at least 55% marks in their qualifying degree. Candidates belonging to SC/ST/PwD categories need at least 50% marks.
- For Lectureship (LS):
– The educational qualification requirements for the lectureship are the same as for JRF. However, there is no upper age limit for candidates applying for a lectureship position.
 Age Limit
- For JRF:
– The maximum age limit for candidates applying for JRF is 28 years. There is a relaxation of up to 5 years for candidates belonging to SC/ST/PwD categories and women applicants. OBC candidates are eligible for a 3-year relaxation.
- For Lectureship:
– There is no upper age limit for candidates applying for the post of Assistant Professor through the CSIR NET.
 Relaxation Criteria
– Age relaxation is available for SC/ST/OBC (Non-Creamy Layer)/PwD/Transgender/Women applicants as per the government rules and guidelines.
 CSIR NET 2024 Exam Schedule
