By selecting Reed Sheppard of Kentucky at No. 3 overall in the NBA Draft, the Houston Rockets gain a talented shooter

The Houston Rockets selected Reed Sheppard with the third overall choice in the NBA draft Wednesday night, adding a top long-range shooter to their youthful club.

At Faith Assembly of God, friends, instructors, and former teammates gathered to support London native and NBA Draft prospect Reed Sheppard. Pastor Rodney Goodlett of Faith Assembly of God stated that the community is thrilled to see Reed’s lofty goals realized.

Some close to Reed claimed that the gym was unique to his path since it was a place where people could enjoy roasted pig, camaraderie, and aspirations coming true.

Misty Watkins, Reed’s former Youth Leader, said, “Just stopping by the church late nights, weekends, you never knew when Reed was going to be in this very gym late nights shooting basketball over and over and over but that proved to work out pretty well for him.” Everyone in attendance felt that Reed deserves respect both on and off the court after taking a close look at the guy he is behind closed doors.

Winston Griffin, a family friend, said, “But London doesn’t see something like this very often but no town does this is extremely rare air so everyone’s excited and just so excited for him.” And when it was revealed that the Houston Rockets would select Reed Sheppard with the third overall choice in the 2024 NBA Draft.
